Sedum (Stonecrop)
Sedums are tough and easy-to-grow perennials that do not like a lot of fuss. There are many different varieties – from low-growing groundcovers to upright types. This is a plant that has something to offer in every season. The thick, succulent leaves appear in early spring like tight clusters of tiny cabbages. Flower buds appear in late spring and early summer and are long-lasting. In late summer, the buds open to delicate sprays of star-like flowers. The foliage remains green thoughout the winter months as well as the attractive brown seedheads.
Most sedums will perform well in partial shade but full sun is best. The plants are drought tolerant and dislike heavy watering. They are useful in rock gardens, pots, along walkways or in borders. They break easily so cannot withstand foot traffic.
We have a large selection. This is just a sample-
