Early Fall Colors

Off

We are beginning to see fall color on some of the shrubs in the nursery. The color change on leaves in autumn happens when temperatures drop and days get shorter, which causes the chlorophyll in the leaves to break down, revealing other pigments like yellow and red.

Sumac ‘Low Grow’ (Rhus aromatica)

Oakleaf Hydrangea ‘Snow Queen’

Hydrangea ‘Bluebird’

Burning Bush (Euonymus alatus)

Bush Honeysuckle (Diervilla)

Smoke Bush (Cotinus coggygria)

Viburnum

Bloodtwig Dogwood ‘Midwinter Fire’ (Cornus sanguinea)
